EU, Google reach deal


(MENAFN) The European Union"s antitrust watchdog has approved concessions offered by Google to settle allegations it is abusing its dominant position in Internet searches, according to the Daily Star



The case between the EU and Google has been held in 2011



Google will have to follow an antitrust procedure to change ways of displaying search results, which may result in USD5 billion annual fines



EU Antitrust Commissioner Joaquin Almunia said: "This is an important step forward.
