Seoul to seek tighter u.s., china ties to denuke n. Korea


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) South Korea will step up strategic cooperation with the United States and China this year in an effort to deter North Korea's military provocations and denuclearize the communist country, the foreign ministry here said Thursday.



The plan comes after a political upheaval in the North following a shock execution of leader Kim Jong-un's uncle and regent, Jang Song-thaek, in December, said the foreign ministry spokesman in a briefing relayed by Yonhap news agency toda



Experts have speculated possible military provocations against the South as the North would seek to consolidate Kim's grip on power amid uncertaint
