UAE - 156 police graduates, cadets honoured at ceremony

(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Dubai Crown Prince praises efforts of Dhahi Khalfan for 35 years of service as Chief of Dubai Police.



Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, on Wednesday attended the graduation ceremony of the 21st batch of student cadets and graduate students of the Dubai Police Academy on Wednesday



The ceremony that began with the national anthem and then a parade, was attended by Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Shaikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqar Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah; Shaikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain; Shaikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; Lt-General Saif Abdullah Al Sha'far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior; Lieutenant-General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai; and a number of civilian and senior military officials along with ambassadors of Arab and other friendly countries



Shaikh Hamdan praised the efforts of Lt-General Dhahi Khalfan over the past 35 years of service as Chief of Dubai Police saying that he is the father of all the graduates and a role model of loyalty, truthfulness and belonging to the country, its wise leadership and soil



Lt-Gen Dhahi honoured 156 police cadets and graduates, including 49 from the Arab, GCC and other countries and conferred medals to 84 post-graduates, MA and PhD holders, 42 students were awarded MA degree in Law and 50 police officers were honoured for obtaining MA and PhD from various international universities



Major-General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Dubai Police Commander-in-Chief honoured the toppers of the two batches with medals, badges and distributed certificates to the new graduates from the UAE and various Arab countries. He congratulated them on their excellence, urging them to continue their success and innovation



Maj-Gen Al Mazeina praised the unlimited support of Shaikh Mohammed to the Dubai Police Academy and lauded the follow-up of Lt-Gen Dhahi who established the Dubai Police Academy college in 1987



In his address Major-General Dr Mohammed Ahmed Fahd, Director of the academy, referred to the moral and material support from the government who helped in making the nation peaceful and safe. He also said that the Dubai Police Academy had become a role model and was at par with other prestigious academies in the world



He urged the graduates to safeguard and keep the stability of the UAE community intact through pledging their allegiance to the country and its leadership, especially after winning Expo 2020 they were expected to ensure security during this important event
