Customers can pay electricity bill through Omantel machines


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Omantel on Wednesday announced that it has launched a new service for the payment of electricity bills through its payment machines.


A press release said that the service has been launched in collaboration with the Muscat Electricity Distribution Company (MEDC) in a bid to improve customers' experiences and provide them with many payment options.


Dr Amer bin Awadh al Rawas, CEO, Omantel and Eng Abdullah bin Said al Badri, CEO, MEDC signed the agreement.


Talib bin Mansour al Hinai, chief operating officer supply business at MEDC was quoted in the release as saying, ''We are pleased to provide our customers with new and unique service that enables them to pay their electricity bills through Omantel payment machines. We hope that this initiative will be a good start for enhancing business relationship between the two organisations.


''Our partnership with Omantel will help us in providing better services to our customers as the service will be available across all their payment machines which are easily accessible.''


Nabil bin Ahmed al Rawas, general manager customer care at Omantel Consumer Unit said, ''Omantel always seeks to provide the best possible service that improve its customers' experiences. The new service, launched in collaboration with MEDC, provides customers with many payment options using their credit cards or cash at any time through Omantel payment machines that are spread across different governorates and some key locations such as filling stations. This will ensure availability of payment option 24x7.


''MEDC plays an important role in providing one of the basic services needed by Omanis and expatriates as well.


''This tie-up will pave the way for more cooperation with more electricity companies in the sultanate.


''The move comes within the endeavors made by Omantel to ensure high quality services and innovative communication solutions.''


Omantel bill payment machines across the sultanate now stand at 90, the release added.&n
