(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) In line with BBK's strategic initiatives and its support to various entities, Abdulkarim Bucheery, BBK's chief executive, Reyadh Sater, deputy chief executive and Jamal Hijris, general-manager welcomed representatives from different societies at the bank's headquarters to receive BBK's contributions for their requests submitted in October, November and December in 2013.
Some of the entities that have benefited from the BBK support totaling BD78,000 are: Ayadi Relief Organisation, Alia for Early Intervention, Bahrain Writers Association, Bahrain Society of Sociologists, Bahrain Businesswomen Society, Bahrain Deaf Society, Scouts and Guide Fellowship of Bahrain, Safra Primary and Intermediate Girls School, Al Montalaq Ladies Society and Bahraini Society for Woman Development.
As one of the major financial institutions, providing regular contributions to various humanitarian causes, BBK has supported entities including major clubs, charity funds and social initiatives.
Ithmaar's new MasterCard solutions
Ithmaar Bank, an Islamic retail bank, has announced that it is introducing a full suite of new Shariah-compliant MasterCard credit cards.
The new Ithmaar Bank credit cards, which were tailored to meet the specific requirements of Ithmaar customers, are being introduced as part of the bank's commitment to listening to, and delivering on, customer expectations.
A total of three all-new credit cards - MasterCard Gold, MasterCard Gold Plus and MasterCard Titanium - were unveiled following the joint Ithmaar Bank MasterCard announcement. The new cards offer Ithmaar Bank customers free worldwide Takaful travel insurance as well compelling terms including, for example, a minimum repayment of only 5 per cent of the ending balance within 25 days from the statement date.
The cards offer immediate access to more than 2.5 million Automated Teller Machines (ATMS), and are welcomed at more than 35.9 million outlets around the world. Ithmaar Bank will also provide free supplementary cards to immediate family members of the primary cardholder, as well as exclusive discounts through MasterCard and free access to selected airport lounges for Titanium credit card holders.

ASRY, Solas ink key agreementin ASRY
ASRY, the leading ship and rig repair yard in the Arabian Gulf, is expanding its already extensive range of in-yard services by signing an important service agreement with Solas Marine Services Group.
The agreement will allow Solas to build a 2,000-square-metre service fentre for life boats, life rafts and fire fighting & life saving appliances in ASRY, which will not only expand ASRY's services portfolio, but also bring new business opportunities to the Kingdom itself.
ASRY is investing in third-parties setting up in the yard, with a view to maintain its reputation as a one-stop solution for all marine repairs.
ASRY chief executive, Nils Kristian Berge and ASRY technical resources and business development general manager, Magdy Moustafa, signed the agreement with Solas marine services group general manager Sanjay Prabhu.
