(MENAFN- Kora) The New Zealand-born 25-year-old suffered a concussion and leg injury during the first half of his side's 28-6 loss to Ireland at Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Sunday

Maitland will miss the clash against England at Murrayfield on Saturday, while Scotland have several other injury concerns

"Sean suffered a concussion as well as injury to his right leg," Scottish Rugby head of performance medical Paul McGinley said in a statement

"He will be subject to further investigation today at Spire Murrayfield Hospital and will be assessed later by consultant surgeon Graham Lawson

"We also have a number of injuries at this juncture which will impact on availability to train at the start of this week but we are optimistic that players will recover in time for the England game.
