flydubai to issue USD8.8 b sukuk in 2015

(MENAFN) Budget carrier flydubai said it ordered a USD8.8 billion worth of planes in November, and plans to pay through sukuk (Islamic bonds) issue in 2015, according to the Emirates 24/7

The company's chief financial officer Mukesh Sodani said: "We have not looked at bonds yet but we feel in 2015 we will explore that option and sukuk will certainly be interesting.

He added: "The key is diversification of our financing and that's why we are interested in sukuk.

So far, 43 out of 50 Boeing 737-800s aircrafts have already been financed since Flydubai started operations in 2009
