The secretary general of mining union Synamin said: "The machines are running and production resumed this morning.
The shutdown came amid talks over the future of the company operating in the country. The government is seeking to apply a 2006 law that ends tax breaks to Areva, which has been exempted so far
The French company's contract in the country has expired last year, but the government agreed to keep production running while talks are taking place
