Kuwait - Foreign liquor seized 129 illegals held


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Customs officer of Shuwaikh Port foiled an attempt to smuggle 2,730 bottles of red label from an unspecified GCC country hidden inside a special container for importing fodder. Sources said the officers doubted the content of the 40- footer container and found the contraband worth thousands of dinars after an intensive search. The items were referred to the concerned authority



Meanwhile, Ahmadi securitymen launched a surprise inspection campaign in the governorate as part of their efforts to maintain peace and order in the area, as well as to track down criminals, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The campaign led to the arrest of 14 people wanted by law for their involvement in various crimes, 129 who have no valid identification documents, and four others for the possession of drugs and liquor. All those arrested during the campaign were referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action. And, Ahmadi traffic police impounded 23 vehicles and trucks for various traffic violations. Most of the culprits were caught driving in the opposite direction, reports Al- Watan Arabic daily
