Pakistan to Complete Five Power Projects by 2018
(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Pakistan will complete five major hydroelectric power projects with a capacity to produce 5,789 megawatts electricity by 2018, according to a government source.
According to Radio Pakistan quoting WAPDA sources that Diamer-Bhasha Dam on River Indus will generate 4500 megawatts electricity and store over eight million acre feet of water to meet growing power and irrigation need
Golen Gol Hydropower Project being constructed in Chitral will be completed next year and produce one hundred six megawatts electricit
The Neelum-Jhelum Hydroelectric Project on completion in 2016 would produce nine hundred sixty-nine megawatts electricit
Duber Khwar Hydropower Project located on Khan Khwar River in District Kohistan would produce one hundred thirty megawatts electricit
Kurram hydropower project having the capacity to produce eighty-four megawatts electricity power and it will be completed within next four year
Pakistan is facing an acute shortage of power production which has forced authorities to cut off power supply for long hours in some area
