(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) The RAK Criminal Court has ordered seven Asian residents, including two women, to serve three months to five years in jail for opening a brothel house in the city

The court, presided over Chief Judge Yusuf Rajab, and the membership of Judge Hamad Abdul Karim, and Arif Humaidan, ordered all the accused to be deported after serving the jail terms in full. As per court records, the case dates back to last year when the RAK Police were alerted that the suspects had opened up a brothel with two prostitutes

The CID officers tracked down the culprits, caught them red-handed and referred them to the RAK Public Prosecution where they admitted to their crime

The case was then referred to the RAK Criminal Court which gave the accused the said jail terms. The seventh defendant was given a lesser term as he was led to the brothel while the others proved to have been bringing customers to the prostitutes

Fuel felon

Meanwhile, the First Circuit of the RAK Misdemeanour Court sentenced an Asian man to three months in jail for not paying for the fuel he filled in his car

The Court, presided over by Chief Judge Fathi Al Qallaa, also convicted the suspect of damaging part of the petrol station and fuel pump while trying to escape

The case dates back to early this month when the RAK Police was alerted that the defendant filled his car with fuel, and fled the scene without paying the bill. The petrol station manager lodged a complaint at the RAK Police which identified the suspect through footage captured by a security camera at the station, and tracked him down
