Kuwait- No Liquor Meant For 'Wasting' Has Gone Missing: MoI Panel


(MENAFN- Arab Times) After instructions were given by Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid to form a committee to look into the authenticity of the reports which have been published by local press and social networking websites about the 'disappearance of large quantities of liquor' which were ordered to be destroyed the committee said nothing went missing and called the entire incident a procedural error, reports Al-Jaridah daily quoting sources.



The alcohol which was ordered to be destroyed was confiscated by General Department of Drugs and Alcohol Control and the General Department of Customs. The committee was chaired by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs Major General Abdul Hameed Al-Awadhi who has been asked to prepare a detailed report on the incident. The sources said the committee concluded that all spirits seized have been destroyed as per the orders of the Public Prosecutor.



The Security Media Department at the Ministry of Interior commenting on what has appeared in some newspapers and media and social networking sites said, in a press statement, "The concerned authorities at the Ministry of the Interior have not received any correspondence." The statement added, the findings of the Commission of Inquiry on this subject will be announced later
