(MENAFN) Emirates, the Dubai-based airlines, is to move all its operations to the new Al-Maktoum International Airport after 2020, according to Arab News.

Khalifa Al-Zaffin, executive chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corp, said: "Emirates have to move to the new airport at some point. They will move some time after 2020, when we have the capacity to accommodate them."

The first phase of the airport is scheduled to be completed in 2020, as the airport will be able to handle 130 million passengers.
