UAE, India discuss ways to develop bilateral ties


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The UAE Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri met Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Anand Sharma on the sidelines of the Partnership Summit in Bangalore, which is being currently hosted by the Indian city of Bangalore and concludes today.



Al Mansouri commended the warm welcome that the UAE delegation has received during its visit to India and wished success to the conference in achieving its objectives



The two sides discussed ways to develop bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various fields, especially economic and investment



The Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry welcomed the visit of the UAE's delegation to participate in the Partnership Summit and commended the strong and influential existence of the UAE companies that invest in India and the active air traffic movement between the two countries



Al Mansouri stressed the UAE's keenness to boost its relations with India in order to serve the common interests, while the Indian Minister expressed his country's desire to develop the relations of friendship and cooperation with UAE, especially in the economic and trade sectors



Al Mansouri noted to the distinguished economic partnership between the two countries, describing the UAE as the major trading partner of India. He pointed out that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries reached tnearly $41 billion in 2012, whereas the value of UAE imports reached $21 billion and the value of the non-oil exports, including re-exports, reached to $20 billion
