Shell Oman Marketing's net income declines 1.6


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Shell Oman Marketing Company has reported a marginal decline of 1.6 per cent in its net income to RO12.1mn for the year 2013, against RO12.3mn in the previous year, according to the company's filing to the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) on Tuesday.


The total revenue of the company rose 6.7 per cent to RO430.6mn in 2013, compared with RO403.6mn in 2012, while other income grew 8.8 per cent to RO3.8mn.


Shell Oman Marketing's total cost of sales and operating expenses increased by seven per cent to RO422.3mn, from RO394.8mn in the previous year.


The board of directors of the company proposed a final dividend of RO10.5mn or 105bz per share in respect of the 2013 profits. Shell Oman also said that its chairman John Blascos has resigned from the board to take on his new role as vice president in the Shell Group in The Hague. The company's board announced the appointment of Chris Breeze as non-executive chairman of the company effective from Tuesday.
