(MENAFN - The Peninsula) The President of the Qatar Athletics Federation and Chairman of the Diamond League Doha 2014, Dahlan Al Hamad opened the first General Assembly and preparatory meeting of the Diamond League Doha 2014.



He said: "The Diamond League represents 14 meets starting in Doha and ending in Bruxelles. Diamond League is not organised by IAAF. IAAF is a partner of the Diamond League.



"Each meet is evaluated by the Diamond League Committee. Last year we were good compared to the 2012 edition. Our ambition is to become excellent, if we all work hard." Others members present were: Mohammed Jassem Al Kuwari, (the QAF General Secretary) Assistant Director for Support & Manager of the Marketing Committee; Manager of the Spectators Committee, Mohamed Suleiman; Accommodation Committee, Younes Ahmed; Transport Committee, Rashid Al Ansari; Website and Accreditation Committee, Marwan Abu Alasal; Public Relations Committee, Mai Al Mohammadi; Protocol Committee, Abdulla Mirza; Finance Committee, Youssuf Abdulla; Stadium and Equipment Committee, Yaqoub Yousuf Abdulla; Technical & Result Committee, Dr Jabbar Al Kaabi; Executive officer/ Secretary, Majid Mohamed; Referee Committee, Khalid Almajid; IT Committee, Salah Al Saadi; Sports Affairs, Mohamed Ahmed Tahir; Assistant Director for Technical Affairs, A. Hakeem Al Ameri ; Secretariat & Administration, Khalifa Youssuf Abdalmalek; Ghania Tinakicht for the Media Committee and Richard Matthews for the TV Committee



The second Diamond League 2014 preparatory meeting is scheduled for February 25
