(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Kuwait India Football Federation (KIFF) Kuwait announces the 11-a-side soccer tournament 'KIFF Presidents Cup 2014' which will be played on a knockout basis. The tournament begins on Jan 31, 2014 at the Al Sabah Hospital grounds in Kuwait. Taking part in the tournament are 16 teams - AVC Overseas Sports and Cultural Association Kuwait (AVC), Curtorcares United, DHL Football Club (DHL), Don Bosco Oratory (DBO), F.C Sparx, Goan Overseas Association, Kuwait (Goa Maroons), Indian Strikers Football Club, Kerala Challengers, Kuwait Goan Association (KGA), Malabar United, Real Betalbatim Football Club, Santos United, Skynet Raiders, United Friends Club (UFC), United Goans Center (UG) and Youth Recreation Center (Rising Stars) - affiliated to KIFF
The draw for the first such tournament was held on Jan 17, 2014 and the finals are slated for March 28, 2014. The opening ceremony will begin at 6.30 am with all the past KIFF presidents, KIFF Managing Committee members and presidents of all participating clubs taking part in the celebration. V.K Vohra, the first and the longest serving ex-KIFF President and founder member of the organization has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest at the inaugural function. In the inaugural match that will be played at 6.45 am DHL FC will take on the GOA Maroons; at 8.15 am the Indian Strikers will play the Skynet Raiders and in the final match of the day at 9.30 am the Kuwait Goan Association will vie for supremacy against YRC Rising Stars
The outstanding players in all the matches of the tournament will be presented with the Man of the Match Awards. KIFF President along with KIFF Managing Committee members invites all members of the football fraternity to be a part of this exciting tournament.
