Oman's PSC, Iranian firm to develop Khasab port


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Port Services Corporation (PSC) on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Iran's Kaveh Port and Marine Services to set up a company that will operate and manage Khasab port in Musandam governorate.


The operations of the company will include container and general cargo handling, logistic activities, and rail, marine and land transport.


As per the MoU, the Iranian company has three weeks to revise the studies done by PSC with regard to the operation and management of the port.


After three weeks, the company will present a plan for action that includes requirements for development of infrastructure such as berths and warehouse spaces, and the volume of activity that will be secured by the company for Khasab port.


The agreement was signed by Saud bin Ahmed al Nahari, on behalf of PSC, and Mohammed Kaveh, the chairman and managing director of the Iranian firm.
