(MENAFN) Japan's Toyota has posted record sales in 2013, as they hit 9.98 million units, surpassing rivals and regaining the title of the world's biggest automaker, The Peninsula Qatar reported
The carmaker said the strong sales growth was due to a weaker yen and strong US and China sales
Toyota is expecting sales to go over 10 million units this year, making it the first carmaker to breach that barrier
An auto analyst with SMBC Nikko Securities said: "Toyota should have reached the 10 million mark sooner if they had not faced major negative factors like the impact of the quake disaster and flooding in Thailand.
