BMW, Mini sales rise in Qatar


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar ranked among the top five growth markets for BMW Group in the Middle East, achieving a 12 percent increase in sales for BMW and Mini in 2013. The BMW 3 Series led sales in the premium mid-size segment, accounting for a 53 percent sales growth, compared to 2012. The flagship BMW 7 Series scored high with a 19 percent sales increase and the BMW X5 an 8 percent growth.



The series of convertibles, Coupe's and Gran Coupés saw sales go up by 91 percent in 2013. Rounding off the success was the BMW X3 and BMW 1 Series which grew by 91 percent and 54 percent, respectively



Mini sales climbed 18 percent in 2013.



Alfardan Automobiles is the exclusive and official importer for BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce cars, and BMW motorcycles in Qatar. BMW said in a statement that the strong growth signaled the importance and strength of the Qatari market and the growing appetite for luxury vehicles in Qatar.
