He denied the charge in the Court of First Instance
The complainant, a Filipina sales assistant, said that the defendant's job was to drive her and her colleagues home from work at a shop in a mall
On November 15, last year he dropped her seven colleagues home and told her he would take her to his place
"When I asked him about the reason, he said he wanted to have sex with me.
But she disagreed and told him to drop her home
He parked the bus near a building in Al Hamriyah in Al Muraqqabat area and grabbed her by the neck trying to kiss her, she claimed
"As he lifted my shirt he told me to go up to his room. But I resisted and pushed him away," she said
The woman then ran off the bus and rushed to a car parked nearby with a Filipina behind the wheel
The Filipina witness confirmed that the complainant came to her car and kneeled near the passenger seat "as if she was hiding from someone"
"I saw a bus driver looking around as if he was searching for someone. She was scared and talking fast. But I could understand from her that the driver sexually harassed her and tried to kiss her but she ran away," the witness told the prosecutor
The witness added that she could not see the defendant's face properly as it was dark
The complainant's sister said in the investigation that her sister called her around 9.30pm. "She was crying and told me to come home. I learnt from her that the driver touched her against her will after refusing to drop her home.
The complainant told the police that the accused previously had tried to make sexual advances by way of passing lewd comments, but she did not report him as she wanted to avoid trouble
