(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The annual Spring Festival celebrations began today at Souq Waqif, with the participation of 28 singers from Qatar and the rest of the Arab countries. The Festival, which will run until February 6, features several outdoor games for families, especially for children, various shows, display of Qatari traditional foods, music featuring top Arab stars, handicrafts and security and safety awareness expo
Souq Waqif Director Mohammed Al Salem, in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), said that the open courtyard of Souq Waqif, where concerts of the Festival are being held and which can accommodate 3,500 persons, was overcrowded this evening with lovers of the famous Saudi Singer Rabeh Saqr
Al Salem said that the first day of the Festival had attracted nearly 10,000 visitors, expecting that this year edition will see a larger number of visitors compared to that of last year, which saw 35,000 visitors.
