Zimbabwe budget deficit at 6 percent in 2013


(MENAFN) Zimbabwe logged a 6 percent budget deficit last year as it suffered from a shrinking tax base due to several challenges in the economy, Xinhua reported



Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) said that revenue for the year dropped USD21 million after USD3.43 billion was collected



ZIMRA chairperson said: "Challenges such as the liquidity crunch coupled with low industrial capacity utilization, among others, saw the tax base shrinking.
