Dubai Culture, Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, and DSF to host Drama Beggars from DFYT 2013


(MENAFNEditorial) The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate's dedicated Authority for culture, arts, and heritage, the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature 2014, and the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), have teamed up to promote the collaboration of literature and performing arts, with the showcase of Drama Beggars, a winning play from the Dubai Festival of Youth Theatre (DFYT) 2013



Open to the public, Drama Beggars, the brainchild of the Bani Yas Theatre group, will take the centerstage on January 23, 2014, at 8pm, at the courtyard near Dar Al Adab House, the official house of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, in Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood. The performance will offer simultaneous translation from Arabic to English



Written by Kuwaiti scripwriter Badr Moharab, directed by Hameed Al Mahary, and produced by Bani Yas Theatre, Drama Beggars is the story of two beggars who live in filth, when they encounter a thief looking for a place to hide



The Dubai Festival for Youth Theatre continues to be the definitive platform for aspiring theatric talent. From budding directors, playwrights and actors to technical professionals working on stage, costume, and lighting, and make-up artists, participate in the programme that are geared towards educating them on the various aspects of theatre production
