Maldives, Sri Lanka to boost trade ties


(MENAFN) Maldives President tried to boost trade with Sri Lanka during his first visit to the country since assuming office, Xinhua reported



During the visit, the President said: "Let us restart our Joint Economic Commission (JEC). JEC is a mechanism that can help to move forward in trade. Let's also renew trade and it is time to go for a new approach in bilateral trade.



The Maldives is Sri Lanka's third largest trading partner among South Asian countries, coming after India and Pakistan. The total trade value between the two countries hit USD68.53 million
