Oman LNG supports Social Care Home

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman LNG signed an agreement on Tuesday to facilitate purchase of equipment for the Social Care Home in the wilayat of Rustaq.

A press release stated that the elderly in Oman comprise only a small percentage of the country's population but the government has taken several steps to ensure their well-being. ‘The Ministry of Social Development had established this home in Rustaq in 2003 to take care of the elderly who have no relatives to look after them. As per the agreement, Oman LNG will fund the purchase of equipment and supplies, including wheelchairs, printers, laptops, medical beds and mattresses,' according to the release.

''We are delighted to support the home by funding procurement of its equipment,'' Khalid al Massan, chief corporate affairs officer, Oman LNG, was quoted in the release as saying.

The company earmarks 1.5 per cent of its annual net income after tax towards social investment for the development of the sultanate and its people.
