(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman Auto X team came up with impressive performances in the second round of the UAE Auto X Championship at the Jebel Ali Kart Track.
Three of the five-member team returned to Muscat with podium finishes with the Raisi brothers, Anas and Ahmed, finishing second in their respective categories and Sami al Shaibani claiming a third spot.
The second round saw some tough competition, in which three new teams from Jordan also took part.
Anas al Raisi, driving a Volkswagen, finished second in his first FWD class competition just behind veteran driver Mohammed Tarifi.
Ahmed al Raisi took second place in the FWD modified class.
Sami al Shaibani, after crashing in the first heat, managed to secure second place in the AWD modified class. His brother, Mazin finished fourth in the same class after encountering technical difficulties with his car.
Mannan Rawahi, the newest member of Team, managed to finish in fourth place on his debut in the UAE event.
Mohammed al Busaidi, who had trouble with his car at the start of the event did not compete, but is still placed overall second in the FWD category.
Round three of the competition will take place at the same venue on February 28.
