Philippine debt up 5.5 percent


(MENAFN) The Philippine Bureau of Treasury said the debt of the government hit USD126 billion in November last year, Xinhua reported



The government's debt in the period was 5.5 percent more than the USD119 billion logged in the same period a year earlier



The bureau said: "Since the start of (2013), total national government debt increased by 4.4 percent on the back of domestic borrowings. Domestic obligations were driven by issuances which took advantage of domestic liquidity to deepen the domestic capital market.
