University of Sharjah Joins SAP University Alliances Program


(MENAFNEditorial) The University of Sharjah today announced that it has bolstered its ability to prepare students for the workforce by signing up for SAP's University Alliances program (UAP)



Supporting existing business, engineering and IT programs, the globally acclaimed UAP provides students with hands-on experience of key technology solutions. UAP member schools gain access to the SAP Business Suite family of solutions enabling students to put classroom theory into practice through demonstrations, problem solving exercises, case studies, and research programs



University of Sharjah students will gain theoretical and practical insight into how technology can empower businesses to optimize key processes such as operations and supply chain management, accounting and controlling, human capital management, project planning, plant and materials management, and sales and distribution

The University of Sharjah is a comprehensive academic institution with 14 colleges offering 80 programs at the bachelors, masters and doctoral levels. The University's president and founder is His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah



The College of Business Administration (CBA) is one of the oldest and largest colleges in the University. It Page Content is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and soon to be accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) the gold standard in business education. The faculty members at the college enjoys a world class reputation for their teaching innovation and research



The college currently offers five Bachelor Degrees – BSc in Accounting, BSc in Finance, BSc in Business Administration, BSc in Public Administration and BSc in Management Information Systems, and one Postgraduate Degree, the Executive Master in Business Administration. Dean of the College Professor Abu Baker Ibrahim indicated that "this collaboration will help our students to have exposure to real work through internship opportunities. Also it will further enhance the employment opportunities for our graduates in the supply chain and logistics management sector".



SAP's UAP currently counts 52 members across the Middle East and Africa (MENA) region, incorporating thousands of students and 250 trained lecturers. As part SAP's regional growth plans for the region the company plans to significantly increase alliances with the universities and schools within the next three years
