(MENAFN) Ireland's sovereign debt rating was raised by Moody's, bringing it to an investment-grade Baa3 in recognition of the country's exit from an EU-IMF rescue program, The Peninsula Qatar reported
Moody's also placed the country on a positive outlook, saying that the economy has potential for growth and debt improvement
Moody's lead analyst for Ireland said: "The upgrade reflects the growth potential of the Irish economy which together with the fiscal consolidation, expected to continue over the next few years, will help bring down the very high debt levels.
