(MENAFN - Arab Times) Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid and Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Lt General Sulaiman Al-Fahad have appreciated the efforts taken by Ahmadi securitymen in arrested two suspects responsible for murdering a Kuwaiti citizen in his 60s in Fintas area. They also appreciated Hawally securitymen for arresting three Kuwaiti citizens and an Iranian expatriate who were involved in a number of theft cases including some where they stole from vehicles after breaking the windows

The first case in detail, a Kuwaiti citizen in his 60s was shot multiple times in the head inside his apartment in Fintas area. Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the apartment to find him lying dead in a pool of his own blood. The guard of the residential building told securitymen that he saw two men running out of the flat immediately after hearing the gunshots from the flat. Elaborating on the second case, Hawally securitymen had received several complaints about unknown gangs breaking the windows of vehicles to steal the contents including important identification documents

Among the vehicles stolen by the gang was one that was rented by the Ministry of Interior during the Second Donors Conference for Syria in which there was a number of identification documents. After carrying out intensive investigations, they arrested the gang of three Kuwaiti citizens and an Iranian expatriate out of which two were juveniles. They confessed to the crime and gave details to securitymen about the way they stole the vehicles. Earlier, according to Al-Anba Arabic daily, the Ahmadi police arrested two Kuwaitis - 24 and 30 years old respectively - for allegedly murdering in cold blood a 60-year-old compatriot inside his apartment in Fintas. The daily added police also seized the weapon (Kalashnikov rifle) used in the murder. The sources saidthe suspects were arrested by means of a special 'satellite' technique just four hours after committing the crime. The daily added, the suspects could not be immediately interrogated because they were high on drugs

Following the interrogation the men claimed they had differences with the victim. They also accused the victim of stealing their tent. However, the suspects have been referred for further interrogation. The daily added the arrest came after the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior received a call past midnight from an unidentified tenant in the area about shots being fired in the 'vicinity'. Securitymen from the Ahmadi governorate led by Major-General Ayed Al-Otaibi swung into action and found the victim dead in his apartment The bullet had allegedly pierced his jaw and come out from the other side. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department were summoned to lift the fingerprints. The suspects were arrested based on the details of the victim's telephone details, because one of the suspects was allegedly the last person to call him. The security authorities then traced the caller to one of the camps and took him into custody
