Park Pushes for Partnership with India in Nuclear Energy


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) South Korea's President Park Geun-hye said South Korea can become a great partner to India in nuclear energy projects, highlighting the safety of the South's nuclear power plants.



In an interview released Wednesday with India's public service broadcaster, Doordarshan, Park said no major accidents have occurred in South Korea in the nuclear energy industry since the country began running nuclear power plants in 197



Park said by independently developing its own type of nuclear power plants, South Korea has increased the safety and economic efficiency of its nuclear facilities, according to Korea's (KBS WORLD) websit



She also said South Korea has increased safety at its facilities by introducing stricter standards since the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in Japan
