Construction to boom as Dubai will host Expo 2020


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The construction industry is expected to witness a boom again as Dubai will host the Expo 2020, said Dr Abdullah bin Mohamed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Public Works. He was inaugurating the third annual Intermat Middle East - the region's largest exhibition for construction equipment, machinery and materials - at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, or Adnec. The show is being organised by Comexposium and Clarion Events Middle East, and will continue until January 16, 2014. Dr Al Nuaimi said: "With Dubai winning the Expo 2020 and the construction industry expected to boom again.'' He said: "Intermat Middle East is an excellent platform to expand our network and meet some of the biggest, most well- known and reputable organisations in the construction industry. The show brings together companies providing construction equipment, machinery and materials from across the world that are not only cost-effective but also technologically enhanced." The ministry, present at the exhibition, is showcasing the latest projects under execution and in the pipeline. Professionals and organisations across the industry have the opportunity to meet high-level executives and experts from the MOPW to highlight the importance and requirements of investing in public works and the opportunities involved in further enriching the country.
