UK's Amec buys Foster Wheeler for USD3.13b


(MENAFN) Amec, a British oil and gas engineering company, is to acquire Swiss-based Foster Wheeler in a USD3.13 billion deal, The Peninsula Qatar reported



Amec has stated that the acquisition, the first sizable one in the sector in three years, would help it to more than double revenues in growing markets



The company said that the acquisition would also add oil and gas transport and refining capabilities to its portfolio that includes mining, nuclear and renewable energy services



Amec's Chief Executive said: "The combination of our two businesses, Amec and Foster Wheeler, would be financially and strategically attractive.
