343 Labour Law violators arrested in Oman 165 deported


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The joint inspection team in the Ministry of Manpower has stated that 351 workers were found violating the Labour Law between January 4 and 11.


These include 263 commercial workers, 50 farm workers and 38 private workers. The inspection teams arrested 343 workers including 193 absconding workers, 140 retrenched workers and the rest for other violations.


The governorates of North and South Batinah had the maximum number of workers violating the law with 91, followed by the governorates of Muscat with 87, North and South Sharqiyah with 90, Dhofar with 29, Dhahirah with 26, Dakhliyah with 18, and the governorate of Buraimi with two.


The ministry has already initiated legal procedures against the violators and deported 165 workers for violating provisions of the Labour Law


These included 102 commercial workers, 53 private workers and ten farm workers.
