Turkey's car production up 5 percent

(MENAFN) Car production in Turkey went up 5 percent last year to hit 1.13 million cars, but the Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD) expects output to fall this year, The Peninsula Qatar reported

The production increase last year was due to an expanding local market and more sales overseas as auto exports also registered positive growth

Car exports in 2013 increased 14 percent to 828,000 units bringing in total revenue of USD21.5 billion. The OSD said that Turkey's vehicle industry is the fifth-largest in Europe
