Shanghai service industry pays 64 percent of tax revenue


(MENAFN) Nearly two thirds of Shanghai's tax revenue came from the service industry in 2013 and financial firms took the lead as they comprised 40 percent of the top service taxpayers, Xinhua reported



The service industry's taxes came at USD84.77 million, making 64.5 percent of the total. The top 100 service firms on the taxpayer list paid a combined USD21.1 billion last year, representing 16.1 percent of the total tax income and 25 percent of tax payments



The Shanghai Taxation Bureau released a statement saying that tax revenue went up 8.7 percent from 2012 as it hit USD131.3 billion. Growth rate in 2012 was at 7.1 percent
