Malaysia's IPI expands 4.4 percent


(MENAFN) The Malaysian Statistics Department said that the industrial production index (IPI) in the country expanded by 4.4 percent in November versus the same month a year ago, Xinhua reported



The gain in the IPI was cited to a gain in all indices as manufacturing expanded by 4.1 percent, mining by 4.8 percent and electricity by 6.1 percent



The Statistics Department said: "In seasonally adjusted terms, the IPI in November 2013 increased by 3.5 percent month-on-month. The increase was contributed by all indices: manufacturing (1.3 percent), mining (9.7 percent) and electricity (2.9 percent).
