(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Losing an ATM card can bring a lot of trouble, but it turned out to be rewarding for Mohammed al Nuamani, a 74 year old Omani living in Dubai.

It gave him the opportunity to win two Infiniti cars and a cash prize of AED 100,000, after he bought a Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) mega raffle ticket at a petrol station where he had gone to recover the lost bank card found by a police officer.

''I thought I was having a bad day when I lost my ATM card while withdrawing cash at a Dubai petrol station. After spending some time looking for it, I left the station only to receive a call from my wife half an hour later that a police officer had found it,'' Nuamani told Muscat Daily from Dubai.

While at the filling station to collect the card, a customer service representative persuaded him to buy the raffle ticket.

''I was reluctant at first, but then bought it and forgot all about it. ''A DSF official called me to inform that I was the winner. At first, I thought it was a prank call, but I double checked and found out that I had indeed won two Infiniti cars and AED100,000,'' Nuamani said. Nuamani, who has never won a raffle before, is overjoyed with the win.

''It's a great feeling as the news comes just days before my birthday on January 17. This is a big birthday gift.'' When asked about his plans, Nuamani said, ''The win is yet to sink in. I will probably sell one of the cars and add the money to the AED100,000 cash prize to buy an apartment. If need be, I may also sell the second car.''

Residents and visitors can try their luck with the Infiniti Mega Raffle by buying a coupon for AED200 at the gold souq, main shopping malls, select ENOC and EPPCO petrol stations and the Global Village.

The raffle offers a grand prize of two Infiniti models QX60 and G25 and a cash prize of AED100,000. Commenting on the win, Abdulla Hassan al Amiri, senior manager, raffles & promotions, Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, said, ''Winning has been one of the key elements that attracts millions of people from different nationalities to DSF every year, and this is evident by the fact that the first winner of this mega raffle is an Omani. I congratulate Nuamani for this win.''

The 19th edition of DSF began on January 2 and will go on till February 2 under the theme Shop at yo
