Rainfall in several parts of Oman, wadis overflow


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Northern and central parts of Oman, besides Muscat, witnessed rain and high winds on Tuesday, causing a number of wadis across the country to overflow.


Shinas in North Batinah and the wilayat of Buraimi received light rainfall. Musandam governorate experienced moderate to heavy rainfall on Monday and Tuesday, leading to flooding of some wadis.


The highest rainfall was recorded in Ghamsa village with 42mm, followed by Lima (26mm), Khasab (24mm), Mahas (22mm), Kamzar (16mm), Dibba (10mm) and Madha (3mm). A media statement said that wadis Moh, Mahas, Qada and Kamzar in Khasab, Tybat, Ghamda, Fadgha, Bukha and Al Jadi in the wilayat of Bukha overflowed due to the rain.


The Directorate General of Regional Municipality and Water Resources in the governorate has inspected the damage caused. Teams were deployed to remove debris from roads brought on by overflowing wadi waters and facilitate easy traffic movement.
