HTC profits hit USD6m in Q4, well bellow forecasts


(MENAFN) Taiwanese HTC announced that net profit in the 2013's last quarter were worse than expected, The Peninsula reported. The smartphone manufacturer said that earning in the quarter were at USD6.1 million, versus a loss of USD99.1 million in the quarter before it and a profit of USD34 million in the same quarter a year ago. Two years ago, HTC supplied one of every 10 smartphones around the globe, but the figures, which is significantly below expectations of USD24.3 million, signal that the company is face real problems now.
