S. Korea's FM to Hold Talks with Key US Officials


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) South Korea's Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se arrived in the US on Sunday for talks with key Washington officials. Yun told reporters Japan's domestic politics are not just an issue between Seoul and Tokyo but a concern for the international community, according to Korea's (KBS WORLD) website. He also said the current situation in North Korea is a key concern for Seoul and Washington, and the two sides will discuss policy guidelines on the North to be applied for years to come. During his three-day stay in the US, Yun will meet with Kerry and Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel and discuss a wide range of issues, including Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's visit to the Yasukuni Shrine. Talks will also cover global and regional concerns including China's declaration of its air defense identification zone. Yun will meet with Hagel on Monday and hold talks with Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Robert Menendez and Secretary Kerry on Tuesday.
