(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) The car had fallen into Rashid Port's dock, with a 24-year-old Pakistani driver trapped inside.

A man had a brush with death after his car plunged into the sea at Rashid Port as he was offloading goods onto a ship. The man was saved after the Dubai Police Maritime Rescue Team came to his aid within four minutes of the incident being reported.

Major Juma bin Darwish Al Falasi, Director of Rescue Operation of the Dubai Police, said his department received information at 11am on Sunday that a car had fallen into Rashid Port's dock, with a 24-year-old Pakistani driver trapped inside.

A rescue team headed by Major Ali Al Naqbi rushed to the site. The victim had gone to the port in his car to ship some goods to his home country. His car fell into the water after he brought it closer to the ship.

Six divers found that the victim was trapped in the car. The rescue team managed to wedge open the door and rescue the man. The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he is recuperating. The car has been lifted to the port dock
