(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Fire dancers, 3D painters and football jugglers are entertaining the crowds at Global Village, and the Dubai Shopping Festival, which is in full swing, has added an extra zing to the cultural extravaganza.

Global Village 2014 events are capped with children shows, performed on stage three times a day from January 1 to 6. Chinese unicyclists will mesmerise audiences from January 6 to 8, and Silly People, Phil and Colin will perform a creative duet on January 3, 6 and 8. Orbis will once again entertain families three times a day on January 8.

Ahmed Hussain, executive director of operations at the Global Village, said they look forward to this period of the year. "Each year, the Dubai Shopping Festival gets bigger and better, and it is always great for Global Village to be such a big part of the celebrations. We pride ourselves on being a shopping and entertainment destination that families come to, to enjoy themselves and experience new cultures. It is also great that so many families are going to walk away with fantastic prizes during the Dubai Shopping Festival."

Every visitor has a chance to win from the raffle draws to be held on the exclusive Dubai Shopping Festival Stage, which is located near Fantasy Island fun fair area.

Hussain said that as part of Dubai Shopping Festival's Infiniti Mega Raffle, one lucky person will win two luxurious Infiniti models - the QX60 and the G25 - the big announcement taking place at Global Village between 10pm and 11pm. A Dh100,000 prize is also on offer.

Daily entertainment at the pavilions of Yemen, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Thailand, Syria, China, India, Turkey, Morocco, Lebanon, Palestine and Vietnam have beefed up the international shows at the World Culture Stage.

For the first three days in January, visitors were left awe-struck by the Adelaide Fireshow from Ukraine, NeoPaint Works of Budapest and Football Jugglers.

The Adelaide Fireshow displayed a spectacular rhythmic energy of dancing with swinging balls and sticks and batons flocked with the danger of fire caused by flames flicking at the arms of the rhythmic dancers as they sang and twirled through a mesmerising show.

Hungary's NeoPaint Works, a group of artists dedicated to promoting street art and murals, created massive wall murals and 3D street paintings.

These professional artists made ten pieces of street art and gave visitors plenty of photo opportunities in the 3D street murals, and fantastically detailed wall murals that were impressive in scale and life like in quality.

The Football Jugglers showed off their skills with a soccer ball by passing it between each other and performing entertaining tricks such as 'around the world', balancing the ball on their head.
