(MENAFN - Arab News) A book on the history of the Holy Kaaba in Urdu, entitled "History of Construction & Development of the Holy Kaaba," by the Lahore-based Pakistani author Naseem Ahmed bin Haji Karamuddin was released in Riyadh recently.
The work was highly appreciated by Pakistani community leaders, writers and poets. They described the book as historic, timely and a remarkable effort by a Muslim architect.
The 156-page black ornate hard copy of the book, consisting of 84 chapters and printed on fine art paper with hundreds of rare photographs, does justice to the subject, including its historic and religious significance to the Muslim world.
The book describes in detail the stages of construction of the Holy Kaaba, including the means, methods and sequence of work carried out over a long period of time.
The book is published by Al-Faisal Publishers, Lahore. According to the book's author and publisher, arrangements are being made to make the book available through www.amazon.com and other online stores.
According to the author, never in the history has such a detailed description of the Kaaba's development and construction been presented stage-wise with pictorial illustrations.
The book includes vintage photos and details as to how the holy site developed over time. Karamuddin has also described the religious history of the Kaaba and backed it with facts, illustrations, sketches and photographs.
