(MENAFN - Arab News) The Arab Aid group will be holding its 73rd periodical meeting in Riyadh from Jan 7-9, according to a statement by the Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND).
The three-day event, to be held under the sponsorship of AGFUND President Prince Talal, will bring together top officials of the coordinating group of the Arab Development Funds and Institutions (ADFI), the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and the OPEC Fund.
AGFUND spokesman said the Riyadh meetings will discuss, among other issues, the outcome of the 3rd Arab African Summit, which was held in Kuwait recently as well as the role played by the Arab Aid Organizations (AAO) in actualizing those results.
AAO officials will be meeting a number of heads of the international developmental institutions, including the World Bank, the German Society for International Cooperation and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation during which they will be discussing matters of mutual interest with special reference to enhancing the relations among these organizations.
The Arab group includes nine institutions and funds, namely the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD), the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), IDB, the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID), Qatar Fund for Development (QFD) and the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA).
