Oman's bank credit rises 8 in 9M of '13


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The total bank credit of commercial banks in the sultanate during the first nine months of 2013 rose eight per cent to RO15.17bn from RO13.95bn in the same period of 2012. 

A statistical bulletin released by the research and statistics department of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) showed that personal loans, worth RO6.02bn, accounted for 39.7 per cent of the total bank credit. The construction sector, with loans of RO1.5bn, took a 9.9 per cent share and the services sector took 8.6 per cent, followed by the manufacturing sector with a 8.3 per cent share of the total credit at RO1.25bn.
