Saudi- Murderer caught in Taif

(MENAFN - Arab News) The Criminal Investigation Directorate of Taif Police has arrested a man who allegedly murdered an African national in Madinah. The crime was referred to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution branch in Taif. Spokesman for Madinah Police Col. Fahad bin Amer Al-Ghannam said Al-Awali police station received a call from Al-Ansar Hospital reporting the admission of an African national to the hospital's emergency department with multiple knife wounds. The patient died soon afterwards. A witness said he heard shouting outside a building, and went toward the building's entrance. The criminal, however, fled under the cover of darkness and the witness couldn't catch up with him. He called the Red Crescent to come to the rescue of the victim and take him to the hospital. Police who examined the crime scene found a knife with blood stains. The body was kept in the King Fahad Hospital morgue in Madinah. A forensic doctor examined the body and reported his findings to the investigating authorities. After preliminary investigations, it appeared that the killer was an African expatriate residing illegally in the Kingdom. He was involved in a financial dispute with the deceased. Brig. Gen. Abdulhadi Al-Shahrani, Madinah Police director in-charge, ordered the formation of a security team to launch a manhunt for the criminal and arrest him. It appeared that the criminal escaped to Taif, and was arrested there in coordination with the Taif Police.
