Public sector workers in Bahrain to receive USD1.6m in bonuses


(MENAFN) Public sector workers in Bahrain will start the new year with a pay raise after announcing a USD1.6m worth of raises and bonuses, Arabian Business reported. Selected staff, including those who have assisted in an emergency, crisis or disaster, will receive nearly a USD4,000 handout, while social allowances are to be increased for the 15,000 married women in the public sector. Government employees are also to have their communication allowance expanded to include internet and fax.
