Singapore economy expands 4.4 percent in Q4


(MENAFN) The Ministry of Trade and Industry in Singapore said the economy is estimated to have grown by 4.4 percent last year's last quarter, Xinhua reported. The strong growth is, however, still lower than the 5.9 percent increase registered in the third quarter. The manufacturing sector in period grew 3.5 percent versus the same period a year ago, while growth in the third quarter came at 5.3 percent year-on-year. The construction sector logged a 4.7 percent year-on-year growth in the fourth quarter, which is down from 5.8 percent in the quarter before it.
